Lent Readings 2025

The season of Lent finds its roots all the way back in the Apostolic age. Just after Jesus’ earthly ministry, the church began observing a season of preparation for Easter that was marked by prayerful self-denial and self-examination.

As we deny ourselves through fasting and abstaining from other worldly provisions and pleasures, we do so for the sake of being filled all the more with God’s Word and presence.

If you do not have a reading plan that you are currently following, consider doing these readings taken from the Revised Common Lectionary as daily readings through Lent.
