In His Story
Whether we are aware of it or not, we are all oriented toward a particular way of living, shaped by the rhythms we keep. With each passing day, month, and year, we move within the rhythms of life: social, work, school, holidays, and seasons. Through these rhythms, we are being formed together as individuals and as a community. Have you ever wondered why these rhythms matter, or where they are leading us?
The church calendar speaks to this reality. In the midst of the many rhythms that shape our lives, it invites us into a truer, more intentional rhythm of life– one that orders our time around the life of Christ. During Advent, we learn to wait and hope; at Christmas, we rejoice in God’s nearness. During Lent, we are reminded to repent and return to him; at Easter, we are reminded to celebrate new life, found in him. In Ordinary Time, we are formed in faithfulness through the everyday practices of following Jesus.
In His Story is a series of liturgical reading guides designed to help you enter these sacred rhythms through daily worship. As you move through the seasons, may these guides help attune your heart to God’s unfolding story and remind you, beneath the low hum of everyday life, that there is a better story shaping us and a better song to sing.
